Clay County Delinquent Property Tax List
Taxes are collected out of Green Cove Springs on the same statutory calendar as every other Florida county — delinquent April 1, certificates sold on or before June 1. We cover that cycle, and why this is a different lead from pre-foreclosure, here. What is not the same in every county is the property behind the delinquency, and how Clay runs its sale.
Where to find Clay County's delinquent property tax list
Clay's certificates are on LienHub, at lienhub.com/county/clay. The certificate sale page has the yearly sale, and the county-held certificates page has the ones the county still holds. Tax deed sales are on the Clerk of Court's tax deeds page.
Each Clay row carries parcel, property address, owner, owner's mailing address, tax due with its measurement date, whether the owner lives at the property, homestead status and assessed market value. Skip tracing runs inside Lispend and is bought separately as credits.
What the delinquent roll in Clay County is made of
The Clay County Tax Collector's Delinquent Tax Lists page points to LienHub rather than posting a list file, so the certificate sale listing there is the county's published list of delinquent parcels.
The property behind it
In the Census Bureau's 2024 American Community Survey, Clay County has 93,080 homes. 72.9% are single-family detached, 9.8% are mobile homes, and 5.4% are vacant.
Concentrated around Orange Park, Green Cove Springs, Middleburg.
How Clay County runs its certificate sale
Clay sells its tax certificates on LienHub once a year in May, and the certificates the county still holds stay on sale there year-round, first come, first served. Tax deed sales are held online, bidding requires an account, and the opening bid on a Notice of Application can change before the sale.
What to do differently here
Check LienHub before you spend time on the owner, because someone can buy that certificate while you are still digging up who owns it. Then compare the amount due to the assessed market value, and look at whether the owner lives at the property and has a homestead exemption.
