Privacy
What we collect, why, and your rights.
Last updated: 2026-06-18. This is the operative privacy statement between you and Lispend. It covers two different things: the public records we publish (§1) and the account data we collect from you (§2 onward).
1. About the data on this site
Lispend publishes Florida court records (Lis Pendens filings and similar public distress records) for subscribers. These records contain names and property addresses that are already public under Florida public-records law — Lispend does not generate or invent them. We provide this data for lawful business real-estate sourcing only; it is not a consumer report and may not be used for any FCRA-covered purpose (see the Terms §3). If you believe a public record is incorrectly attributed to you, the correction process happens at the county clerk, not with us — but you can still ask us to suppress a record from the feed (see §5).
2. What we collect from you
- Email address, when you sign up, join the Founder Lock waitlist, or contact us.
- Account & business details — your name and, for paid business accounts, basic business-verification info (company name and intended use) so we can keep the platform commercial-only. Used for invoices and account administration.
- Payment details are NEVER collected or stored by Lispend. Our payment processor (Polar.sh) handles card data end-to-end and shares only a customer ID and subscription state with us.
- Usage logs (which CSVs you exported, how many rows, when) so we can enforce per-tier row caps and diagnose support issues.
3. Why we collect it
- To deliver your CSV / dashboard access.
- To bill you and process refunds (via the payment processor), and to send the pre-renewal reminders required by the Terms §6.
- To send you operational emails — your CSV is ready, your county portal had an outage, your billing cycle is about to renew, etc.
- To improve the product based on which features get used.
We do not sell your account data to advertisers. We do not place cross-site tracking pixels on this site beyond essential analytics for understanding which pages users find useful.
4. Who we share it with
- Polar.sh — our merchant of record for payments. They process cards under their own privacy policy.
- Vercel — our hosting provider. Standard web-server logs may include your IP address briefly.
- Supabase — our database + authentication provider. Your email and account data live in encrypted Postgres.
- PostHog — privacy-respecting product analytics (inputs masked). Resend — transactional + lifecycle email delivery. Both receive limited personal data to operate the service.
- A contracted skiptrace vendor — when you run skiptrace on a record, we send that record's owner-name and property-address fields to our skiptrace vendor to return phone and email matches. Your own account email and billing info are NOT shared with this vendor. Records you never skiptrace are never sent.
5. Your rights (CCPA / GDPR)
Wherever you live, you can exercise the following by emailing info@lispend.com — we verify the request and respond within 30 days, at no charge:
- Access / export — get a copy of the account data we hold about you, in a portable format.
- Correction — fix inaccurate account data.
- Deletion — request deletion of your account; we remove the account record within 30 days of your request (faster than the passive 180-day retention in §6). Billing history we are legally required to retain may persist on the payment processor’s side per their policy.
- Suppression — if you are a subject named in a public record we publish, you can ask us to suppress that record from the feed even though the underlying filing remains public at the clerk.
- Opt out of sale/sharing & non-discrimination — where the CCPA or a similar law applies, you can opt out of any “sale” or “sharing” of personal information, and we will not deny service or charge you differently for exercising any right here.
- Unsubscribe from operational emails at any time via the link in any email or by replying directly.
6. Retention
We keep your account data while you have an active subscription plus 180 days after cancellation, for support and reactivation. After that we delete the account record. You can ask us to delete it sooner at any time (see §5). Billing-history retention is governed by our payment processor’s policy and applicable tax law.
7. Changes to this policy
If we make a material change to this policy, we’ll email subscribers before it takes effect and update the “last updated” date above.
