Indian River County Delinquent Property Tax List
Taxes are collected out of Vero Beach on the same statutory calendar as every other Florida county — delinquent April 1, certificates sold on or before June 1. We cover that cycle, and why this is a different lead from pre-foreclosure, here. What is not the same in every county is the property behind the delinquency, and how Indian River runs its sale.
Where to find Indian River County's delinquent property tax list
The official source is the Tax Collector's Delinquent Real Estate Tax page. It gives the April 1 delinquency date and the May advertising fee, and it sends you to the certificate sale on LienHub. Parcels the county holds are on the Clerk's Land Available for Taxes page.
An Indian River row carries the parcel, property address, owner, owner's mailing address and the tax amount due with the date it was measured. Each row also says whether the owner lives at the property and gives the homestead exemption status and assessed market value; skip tracing inside Lispend is bought separately as credits.
What the delinquent roll in Indian River County is made of
The Tax Collector advertises unpaid delinquent real estate accounts weekly in a local newspaper for three consecutive weeks.
The property behind it
The Property Appraiser lists 96,241 real parcels. In the Census Bureau's 2024 American Community Survey, the county has 89,174 homes, 68.9% of them single-family detached and 14.4% vacant, a count that includes seasonal homes.
Concentrated around Vero Beach, Sebastian, Fellsmere.
How Indian River County runs its certificate sale
The county sells tax certificates on or before June 1 each year. The Clerk conducts tax deed sales online at indianriver.realtaxdeed.com and is required by Florida Statute to advertise each sale. Bidders post a deposit of $200 or 5%, whichever is higher, per item.
What to do differently here
Reach owners before the certificate sale, while the account is still uncertified. At the deed sale the opening bid on a non-homestead parcel is the unpaid taxes and interest. On a county-held parcel, call the Tax Collector for the purchase price, because the Clerk's page says the amounts it lists are no longer the opening bid.
