Orange County Delinquent Property Tax List
Taxes are collected out of Orlando on the same statutory calendar as every other Florida county — delinquent April 1, certificates sold on or before June 1. We cover that cycle, and why this is a different lead from pre-foreclosure, here. What is not the same in every county is the property behind the delinquency, and how Orange runs its sale.
Where to find Orange County's delinquent property tax list
The list is the Tax Collector's notice of tax certificate sale, printed in the Orlando Sentinel for three consecutive weeks in May. The Tax Collector posts the notice as a PDF, and the accounts are also listed on LienHub.
For anything more, the Tax Collector's tax certificate and deed sales page tells you to put the parcel ID into octaxcol.com yourself.
Each Orange County row carries the parcel, property address, owner, owner's mailing address, and the tax amount due with the date we measured it. It also shows whether the owner lives there, the homestead exemption status and the assessed market value, and skip tracing runs inside Lispend, bought separately as credits.
What the delinquent roll in Orange County is made of
The Orange County Tax Collector publishes the delinquent real-estate list once a year, ahead of the tax certificate sale. Delinquent tangible personal property goes in a separate notice, so the list you work is real estate only.
The property behind it
In the Census Bureau's 2024 American Community Survey, Orange County has 607,220 homes. 53.8% are single-family detached, and renters live in 44.8% of the occupied ones.
Concentrated around Orlando, Winter Park, Apopka, Ocoee.
How Orange County runs its certificate sale
A 3 percent minimum mandatory charge and an advertising charge are imposed on April 1. The sale is held on LienHub, where interest starts at 18 percent, is bid down toward zero, and the lowest rate wins the certificate. A certificate's face amount is the tax plus interest, advertising and the cost of the sale. If the certificate isn't redeemed within two years, the holder may file a tax deed application.
What to do differently here
Check the parcel on octaxcol.com before you call, because the Tax Collector updates the delinquent information periodically until the sale. An owner who is still delinquent can't pay by personal or business check, since the Tax Collector does not accept them for delinquent payments. Even once a property is headed to a tax deed sale, the owner can still redeem until the winning bidder's final payment is received, so call anyway.
